New Orleans Entrepreneur Week is the premier event celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of our city, showcasing emerging trends and innovations, and strengthening our deep ties to the global business community. Its aim is to educate, facilitate connections, inspire action, and bring our community together around what is next.
NOEW is the hub for convening our entrepreneurial ecosystem and also the “front door” to innovation in our region. It’s the ideal place to start for people who want to get involved with entrepreneurship in the Gulf South.
Featuring speakers, pitch competitions, workshops, and networking events, NOEW has seen thousands of attendees and featured 760 startups since its inception in 2009.
What to Expect
Content for this year’s event will focus on entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial teams within and beyond New Orleans. In 2019, NOEW will also highlight two key themes: entrepreneurial hospitality and big data. As a top tourist destination with a reputation as an entrepreneurial hub, New Orleans’ legendary hospitality industry provides a natural place to showcase innovations in customer service. Additionally, New Orleans is the home of innovative, fast growing companies who are using big data to provide insights to inform business decisions. NOEW is tying entrepreneurship to the New Orleans region’s core competencies.
The week will culminate with the NOEW Summit on Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, which will feature groundbreaking lectures and fireside chats with thought leaders and disrupters from around the country. It will also showcase success stories and lessons learned from our region’s leading entrepreneurs. The Summit will educate founders and the teams that support them on starting and scaling their business, be a forum for 1:1 high-level mentor and investor meetings, and provide networking opportunities to build their communities of peers.
New Orleans Entrepreneur Week began in 2009 as the “IDEAcorps Challenge,” an Idea Village program to engage MBA students and corporate volunteers from across the country. Since then, NOEW has evolved into an annual event and serves as a platform for the New Orleans entrepreneurial ecosystem as a whole. This year marks NOEW's 11th anniversary.
