As entrepreneurs seek capital for their company, whether it be from a venture capital firm, an angel group, a lending institution such as a bank or a CDFI, or from other sources, a key common variable among all entrepreneurs is the importance of being prepared for the initial meeting with these sources of capital, as well as for follow-up meetings. Much is taught in universities and at accelerators about this topic, and much of this is conceptual or out of books. This session provides the opportunity to learn about preparing to raise capital in real-world circumstances. Four entrepreneurs who have successfully raised capital will discuss how they prepared to raise capital and how they prepared for their meetings with various capital sources. They will share tips and do’s and don’ts from their real-world experiences. Mike Eckert, Chairman of the NO/LA Angel Network, will moderate this panel.
