Casey Gerald Co-Founder, MBAs Across America
Author, There Will Be No Miracles Here

Biography

Casey Gerald is the co-founder and former CEO of MBAs Across America (MBAxAmerica), a non-profit that sent MBA students on a cross country road trip to mentor small businesses during their summer break. Gerald and three classmates hatched the idea as first year MBAs, reasoning that working with entrepreneurs would provide experience to make them more effective business leaders.

Gerald is also the author of There Will Be No Miracles Here, which chronicles his journey from a poor upbringing in Oak Cliff, Tex., to the elite world of the Ivy League and Wall Street. Although it has the arc of a classic rags-to-riches tale, the memoir stands the American Dream narrative on its head, while straddling the complex intersection of race, class, religion, queer sexuality and masculinity. The book was selected as a Best Book of 2018 by NPR and the New York Times, as well as a PBS Newshour-New York Times Book Club Pick.

Gerald holds a BA in political science from Yale University, where he also played varsity football, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, He has been featured on PBS Newshour, MSNBC, at TED and SXSW, on the cover of Fast Company, and in The New York Times, Financial Times, and many more.
