Biography

Porter Nolan is an in-house corporate lawyer at Amazon. His practice currently focuses on international growth, restructurings, and corporate governance. He previously served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Superior Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: SPN), where he handled mergers & acquisitions, securities, intellectual property, and general corporate matters. He opened Superior’s first overseas legal office in the UK, where he lived for over two years to support the company’s growth throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Porter serves as a Captain in the US Army Reserve, JAG Corps. He holds a BA from the University of Virginia. He received his JD and MBA degrees from Tulane, where he served on the moot court board and was selected to the Order of Barristers. Porter interned for Judge Edith Clement of the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the bar in Washington State, Louisiana, and Washington, DC and is certified as a FINRA Arbitrator. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Corporate & Association Counsel Division of the Federal Bar Association and has served on the boards of several non-profits.
