Ryan H. Peters Assistant Professor of Finance

Dr. Ryan H. Peters is an assistant professor of finance at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business and a research fellow with the Private Equity Research Consortium and the Mack Institute for Innovation Management. He received his MA and PhD in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2017.

Peters' research focuses on corporate finance and investment dynamics, with a focus on venture capital and intangible assets. He is currently investigating how staged financing in venture capital provide value and risk to investors. His scholarly work has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics and the Economic Journal.

Prior to pursuing graduate studies, Peters was an associate economist in the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Macroeconomic Policy Research Group, where he did policy research and contributed to macroeconomic forecasting models during the financial crisis. Additionally, Peters has financial industry experience trading equity derivatives and in financial engineering. He currently teaches corporate valuation in the Tulane University master of finance program.
